GreenValley LiGrip H300 Handheld SLAM LiDAR Scanner

GreenValley LiGrip H300 – Handheld Rotating SLAM LiDAR Scanner

The GreenValley LiGrip H300 is a handheld rotating laser scanning system developed for efficient 3D data acquisition in surveying, forestry, mining, and infrastructure mapping. Designed for mobile field operations, it combines long-range LiDAR measurement with SLAM-based positioning to capture detailed point clouds while moving through a survey area.

Unlike conventional stationary laser scanners that require multiple instrument setups, the LiGrip H300 allows operators to collect spatial data continuously along a planned route. Its rotating scanning mechanism and flexible mounting options make it suitable for projects involving terrain, building facades, transportation corridors, and other large-scale environments.

The system supports SLAM, RTK-SLAM, and PPK-SLAM mapping workflows, providing different approaches to georeferenced point cloud generation according to site conditions and available positioning resources.

Key Features

Rotating LiDAR for Extended Scene Coverage

The LiGrip H300 uses a rotating laser scanning system with a detection range of up to 300 meters. Its wide field of view helps capture building elevations, surrounding terrain, and infrastructure features during mobile surveys.

With a maximum scanning rate of 640,000 points per second, the system supports detailed 3D data collection across large outdoor environments.

Flexible Georeferenced Mapping Workflows

The H300 offers three mapping approaches to accommodate different survey requirements:

  • SLAM: Suitable for indoor mapping and areas without reliable GNSS reception. Ground control points can be used when absolute coordinates are required.

  • RTK-SLAM: Supports georeferenced mapping in areas with compatible RTK correction services and the required GNSS module.

  • PPK-SLAM: Provides a post-processing option for projects where real-time correction coverage is unavailable.

These methods allow surveyors to plan field acquisition according to positioning conditions rather than relying on a single workflow.

Multiple Deployment Options

The LiGrip H300 can be operated as a handheld scanner or integrated with compatible backpack, vehicle-mounted, and UAV-mounted systems.

Handheld operation is suitable for accessible structures and smaller survey areas, while backpack and vehicle configurations can improve field efficiency along longer routes. Compatible aerial mounting options extend its use to selected mapping applications.

Panoramic Imaging for Colorized Point Clouds

The H300 supports a compatible 1-inch CMOS panoramic camera for capturing visual information alongside LiDAR measurements.

The imagery can be used to create colorized point clouds, improving the interpretation of building surfaces, road features, and surrounding site conditions.

Point Cloud Processing for Survey Deliverables

The H300 works with GreenValley software solutions, including LiDAR360 and LiDAR360MLS, for point cloud processing and mapping applications.

Depending on the software configuration, collected data can support terrain modeling, feature extraction, infrastructure analysis, and other geospatial deliverables.

Applications

Topographic and Terrain Mapping

The LiGrip H300 can collect 3D terrain information across construction sites, open land, and engineering survey areas. Its mobile scanning workflow supports efficient coverage of larger sites where repeated stationary scanner setups would be time-consuming.

Forestry and Vegetation Surveys

For forestry applications, the H300 can capture point cloud data describing tree structures, vegetation distribution, and surrounding terrain. These datasets provide a foundation for further forestry analysis using compatible processing software.

Road and Infrastructure Surveys

The rotating LiDAR system is suitable for collecting spatial information along roads, transportation corridors, and infrastructure facilities. Survey teams can use the resulting point clouds to document existing conditions and support road asset mapping.

Mining and Earthwork Measurement

The H300 can assist with 3D documentation of accessible mining areas, excavation sites, and earthwork projects. Processed point clouds can be used for terrain surface generation and volume analysis.

Building Facade and Structural Documentation

Its long-range scanning capability allows operators to capture building elevations, exterior structures, and surrounding site features. These datasets can support existing-condition surveys, renovation planning, and engineering documentation.

Mobile LiDAR Mapping for Engineering and Surveying Projects

The GreenValley LiGrip H300 combines rotating laser scanning, flexible deployment options, and georeferenced SLAM workflows in a portable surveying system. It is particularly suited to projects requiring continuous 3D data acquisition across terrain, infrastructure, and other extensive environments.

For surveying companies and geospatial professionals, the H300 provides a practical solution for producing detailed point clouds that can be processed into mapping and engineering deliverables.
